Solo dining and given a great view of the kitchen behind the magician’s screen. Warm welcome, attentive but unobtrusive service and beautifully presented and subtly flavoured seasonal tasting menu. Stand out dishes were the beef tomato tartare in passion fruit dressing, rabbit ravioli with pickled girolles, delicious sea bass with red pepper bisque and the outstanding saddle of English rose veal with artichoke barigoule. The latter paired brilliantly with the Pommard. The raspberry pre-dessert was so good, not forgetting the gooseberry dessert itself. What a treat!!

An exceptional and truly memorable experience all round. Both the food and service were incredible and couldn't be faulted. The staff were warm and professional, each dish was delicious and executed to perfection and the position of our table allowed us to see the talented chefs at work. We came for a special occasion and the experience we had felt very special indeed. Thank you! Money well spent.

Had a fabulous meal at The Artichoke in Amersham last night. We went because my nephew is now working there, but we will be going back for the warm atmosphere and the brilliant food and wine. Loved all of the dishes on the well thought out tasting menu, but the roasted salsify deserves a special mention. The sommelier was also particularly great. They were some of the best wine pairings we've had. He was also fun and knowledgeable. I really can't understand why we had never been before, since it is so close to us and we often travel a long way to eat in great places! Well worth a visit if you've never been before.
